Local and global advances and public agencies’ performance were in focus during a virtual meeting held by Saudi Arabia’s Council of Economic and Development Affairs.
Operating under the council of ministers, CEDA aims at establishing the overall governance, the mechanisms and measures necessary to achieve Saudi Vision 2030. The body addresses issues spanning all domestic matters, from health to labor to education and Islamic affairs.
During the meeting, CEDA engaged in discussions on the Ministry of Economy and Planning’s presentation on local and international developments.
The dialogue included a comprehensive analysis of recent economic indicators, as well as an evaluation of the predominant expectations and challenges confronting the global economy. The session also featured various perspectives and recommendations on these matters, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The presentation also contained a detailed review of the national economy’s performance, with emphasis on the significant advancements in diversification policies.
It highlighted substantial investments that reinforce the Kingdom’s capacity to tackle global challenges while promoting sustainable development across multiple sectors, underscoring the effective execution of Vision 2030 initiatives for a resilient and prosperous economy.
Furthermore, CEDA examined another address delivered by the National Center for Performance Measurement, commonly referred to as Adaa, which translates to “performance.”
The report provided details on the achievement of public agencies for the fourth quarter of 2023, highlighting progress made in measurement and empowerment initiatives. This effort led to the support of over 27 government agencies through 150 workshops, reviewing 300 documents and issuing 81 performance reports.
In addition, the presentation included an analysis of the performance of national strategies and the plan for measuring and following them up.
The council ultimately issued pertinent decisions and recommendations concerning all the topics addressed during the meeting.
It is noteworthy that the Adaa Center evaluates performance indicators for all public entities, employing rigorously approved and standardized models and methodologies.
Furthermore, the center regularly issues detailed reports, providing comprehensive updates on the progress made toward strategic objectives and the current state of performance indicators across these entities.
