LuLu KSA’s LuLu India Fest 2024 celebrates rich Saudi-India friendship ties

LuLu KSA’s LuLu India Fest 2024 celebrated the rich Saudi-India friendship ties. Culture, cuisine, and an incredible range of Indian products delighted shoppers during the festival that ran from Jan 24 to 30 across LuLu Saudi outlets.

On Jan. 24, 2024, in KSA, LuLu Hypermarket Saudi launched its LuLu India Fest 2024, marking the Indian Republic Day and the growing warmth of ties between India and KSA.

An exciting array of ‘new launch’ products, including Indian fruits like the Indian Cavendish banana, the unique and sweet Indian guava with three different inner pulp varieties, Indian apples, black garlic, dragon fruit, “Gucchi” mushroom, and raw honey, were featured.

Promotions on Indian snacks and great deals on fashionwear, including beautiful Bollywood-inspired High Street clothes and accessories, were available in LuLu stores.

On Jan. 28, Indian Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan visited the LuLu Hypermarket in Riyadh Avenue Mall, Murabba, boosting the festival with his presence at a unique cultural fiesta built on the theme “Two Nations- Unity in Culture.”

The focus was on Saudi-India friendship and shared cultural links. A Saudi anchor, fluent in Hindi, led the audience through a colorful program, followed by visual celebrations such as a dance by children and a Saudi Bridal Henna Night recreation.

The Indian Ambassador ceremonially revealed the line-up of Indian products specially selected for the attention of shoppers, including 10 food trolleys representing different Indian states.

To showcase the versatility of Indian ingredients and the common culinary interests of India and Saudi Arabia, a Saudi chef presented three fusion dishes prepared using Indian ingredients and Saudi cooking techniques.

An Indian market was created on the shop floor of the store, showcasing various FMCG and fashion product categories from India. These included popular FMCG products, Lulu Pvt label’s products, Indian fruits & vegetables, household goods, and garments.

Moreover, LuLu put a spotlight on a huge range of freshly prepared Indian flavors — hot foods being prepared in-store for the entire promotion, from biryanis to curries, popular street foods, traditional sweets, and many more delicacies.

Indian Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan mentioned that the LuLu Group’s rapid expansion in Saudi Arabia and India had aligned the company’s growth strategy with the vision of the leaders of both countries.

He highlighted the LuLu Group’s commitment to development in KSA and India, emphasizing its role in promoting Indo-Saudi commerce and cultural links.

Shehim Mohammed, director, LuLu Saudi Hypermarkets, thanked the Ambassador and Saudi authorities, acknowledging the Kingdom’s business-friendly policies and winds of change that had led to the Group’s expansion.

He mentioned that LuLu’s emphasis on tapping into the power of a nation’s youth aligned with their progress, citing the unique diversity and national vision brought by Saudi employees and the multinational workforce.
