Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Chairman of the National Council of Occupational Safety and Health Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi launched the policy of the comprehensive national program for reporting accidents, work injuries and occupational diseases and documenting reports and the results of investigations related to them. The minister also launched the website of the National Council of Occupational Safety and Health during the opening of the seventh session of the Board of Directors of the council.
Addressing the meeting, Al-Rajhi said that the launch of the national program and the council’s website emanates out of the role of the National Council of Occupational Safety and Health in unifying efforts among relevant parties. “This will contribute to providing a safe and healthy work environment by developing competencies and expertise in the field of investigating accidents, work-related injuries and occupational diseases, in order to reach the root causes of accidents and share lessons learned at the national level to bring down their recurrence,” he said.
Through the launch of the national program and the council’s website, the council aims to clarify the necessary procedures and steps to implement the requirements of the program, in addition to supporting and enabling all establishments to provide a safe, healthy and sustainable work environment and reduce work accidents and occupational diseases by identifying its causes and setting appropriate controls to prevent its recurrence.
The council also seeks, through the website, to provide establishments and employees with regulations, technical and administrative guidelines, and electronic services provided by the council. This is in continuation of the council’s implementation of the tasks and powers assigned to it based on the council’s organization approved by an earlier Cabinet decision in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in the field of occupational safety and health.
It is noteworthy that the national program is one of the ministry’s initiatives in the National Transformation Program, one of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 programs
