The Saudi national artificial intelligence team won six awards at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, held virtually by China.
The competition brought together 129 students from 18 countries. The Kingdom won one gold medal, three silver medals, and two certificates of appreciation.
Qusai Emad Jadallah from Jeddah won the gold medal, while Laith Suwaid Al-Zahrani from Riyadh, Yousef Farid Al-Khalawi from Jeddah, and Ali Ayman Al-Khabbaz from the Eastern Province each earned silver medals.
Raed Hassan Tayeb from the Eastern Province and Hamad Mohammed Al-Kalbani from Riyadh received certificates of appreciation.
Saudi Arabia’s participation, led by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity in partnership with the Ministry of Education and KAUST Academy, highlights the country’s growing strength in advanced technology and its continued investment in young AI talent.
