In a bid to transform the picturesque mountainous region of Soudah into a luxury mountain tourism destination, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has officially launched the ambitious project known as “Soudah Peaks.”

This initiative will bring a touch of opulence to the pristine mountains, situated at an impressive elevation of 3,015 meters above sea level on Saudi Arabia’s highest peak, spanning across the Souda and Rijal Almaa regions.

Soudah Peaks masterplan

The Soudah Peaks project is part of the Public Investment Fund (PIF)’s strategy to diversify the kingdom’s economy by bolstering key sectors such as tourism, hospitality, and entertainment.

Nestled within the breathtaking natural and cultural landscapes of the Aseer region in southwest Saudi Arabia, this venture will set new standards for luxury mountain tourism while preserving the area’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and rich traditions, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

As the chairman of Soudah Development’s Board of Directors, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasised that the development marks a new era in luxury mountain tourism.

The masterplan is designed to offer unparalleled living experience while safeguarding the region’s ecological and cultural treasures. The project aligns seamlessly with the goals outlined in Vision 2030, focusing on the expansion of the tourism and entertainment sectors, fostering economic growth, attracting investments, and making a substantial contribution to the kingdom’s GDP, estimated at over SAR29bn.

Soudah Development has committed to delivering 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square meters of commercial space for Soudah Peaks by 2033. The project’s grand vision is set to redefine luxury mountain tourism and elevate the region’s global appeal as a premier tourist destination.

Additionally, the project is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated , “Soudah Peaks will be a significant addition to the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia and place the kingdom on the global tourism map, whilst highlighting and celebrating the country’s rich culture and heritage. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the beauty of Soudah Peaks, explore its rich culture and heritage, and experience the authentic hospitality of the local community. Soudah Peaks will offer unforgettable experiences amidst lush greenery, above the clouds.”

The Soudah Peaks project aims to provide top-tier luxury hospitality services to over two million visitors annually by the year 2033. The masterplan is meticulously designed to incorporate local architectural styles and traditions, promoting both the cultural and landscape heritage of the region.

This extraordinary destination will comprise six distinct development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock. Each zone will offer a diverse range of world-class facilities, including hotels, luxurious mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, entertainment venues, and commercial attractions.

Additionally, there will be outdoor activities dedicated to sports, adventure, wellness, and culture.
