MSK Architecture and Engineering was founded in Alexandria, Egypt, in 2004 by Mohamed Shokry El-Kholy. It began as a private design studio alongside his academic role at the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture. From its inception, MSK focused on delivering innovative architectural and graphic solutions. The firm quickly gained recognition for its creative approach, successfully completing several small-scale projects.

In 2007, MSK partnered with architect Hussam Taha to establish ARCHARISMA Studio, a sister company specializing in architecture and engineering (A/E) services. This partnership allowed MSK to expand its offerings and introduce innovative project management strategies. With a growing team of 20 young architects and engineers, ARCHARISMA quickly became a competitive force in the Egyptian market.

By 2008, MSK had transformed into a multi-employee firm, broadening its project scope to include urban design, residential complexes, public buildings, and educational facilities. The company’s dedication to high-quality design and engineering solutions strengthened its market position.

Landmark Achievements

MSK continued refining its office structure and project management approach. In 2009, the firm secured a major contract for La Mirada Compound, a mega-scale project in Egypt with a total budget of $100 million. This achievement solidified MSK’s reputation as a leading A/E firm capable of handling large-scale developments.

Expanding into the Gulf Region

In 2011, MSK initiated a strategic expansion into the Gulf region, particularly in Saudi Arabia (KSA). This move aimed to broaden the company’s reach and provide high-quality A/E services to clients in the Middle East. By 2015, MSK was officially licensed as an A/E consultancy firm, with its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt. This milestone marked a new era for the company, allowing it to compete in international markets while maintaining its commitment to architectural excellence.
