Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) has announced the completion of a 89.8 million Saudi riyal ($23 million) sewage project in the Qassim region, the state-owned wastewater utility company said in a statement.

The new project will provide sewage services to nearly 27,000 people across 29 districts in the region’s governorates.

The networks with a length of 108,634 metres were extended and 3,519 household connections were implemented across the governorates.

In addition, it included the construction of a lifting station in Al Bukayriyah governorate with an estimated capacity of 7,280 cubic metres per day. The station is expected to serve over 27,207 citizens.

Earlier this month, NWC commenced the implementation of desalinated water distribution system projects worth SAR 4.3 billion in the cities of Dammam, Khobar, Ahsa, and Qatif.  The projects are expected to complete within a period of 14 to 26 month period and will provide services to over four million people.
